Good Pump

It’s a very well built pump for the price. I only had it for a month so not sure on how long it will last but it seems like it will be a good pump. The only downfall is it is much louder of a pump compared to the old pump I had which was a different brand.

Just A Good Reliable Well Made Pump
By Robert G.
Paola, Kansas
Purchased 12/06/2017 |
Review Posted 12/28/2017
I specifically purchased this product because I've Had The Identical pump (other than the pressure switch was located at the back of the motor instead of on the Volute) model for approximately 15 years on my deep well system. It works absolutely fantastic and never has let us down. I thought my pump was going as the pressure switch was starting to stick and I adjusted the cut out pressure a little bit and it's been running for another month since. Felt sure it would fail us at Christmas with a house full of people but it just kept on chugging and actually is probably running better than it has in the last month.

At least I have the new one standing by should anything happen. I was going through other brand pumps about every 4 or 5 years before this one. I would recommend a sediment filter following this pump as years into service the cast iron Volute did send some rust flakes into the system. You can't go wrong with this pump just buy it adjust your pressure tank correctly and it will give you great service for a long time!

Easy to install, moderately quiet and a simple, simple way to change from the 115V factory set-up to 230V. I purchased Wayne from a reputation standpoint and so far I'm very happy.

Replaced a 30 year old Goulds jet pump that was still functioning but developed an internal leak.

One thing to note for all your replacements DIY's. Be sure to measure the distance between your existing drive and suction ports as this distance may be different on the new replacement pump. This will change how your new pump will connect to the supply lines from the well and will require different pipe fittings and a new location for the pump itself.

Also Schedule 40 PVC is the way to go, cheap and easy to work with.

Product Questions Answered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
Can this pump be used with a 40 - 60 pressure switch?

We have to find a well pump asap. Flotec 1HP is what we have to replace. Will the Wayne 3/4 hp or Simer pump be interchangeable or should we stay with the Flotec ?

Hey Jim, I have a old windmill that I pulled the rusted pump out to find out how deep it was. Total depth is 32ft. You can see water about 10-15ft down. I had used a small 12volt sub pump and retrieved over 100gal. I don't have elect. except for a 1000watt inverter or 12volt. The little pump didn't last. Can you suggest a pump that I can use that is more dependable? We are in the desert area of W. Texas near Terlingua. Also we don't go out very often so I would need to pull the pipe back out to take the pump back home. Thanks, Russell
