This transfer pump comes with a handle on it, so even though it is a little heavier than other recommendations it is still very portable with the added handle.
This pump also has a strong and corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction. The pump provides enough volume and pressure to run a couple of average lawn sprinklers. It is also recommended for all of the dewatering applications we mentioned in other recommendations: emptying flooded basements, stock tanks or even draining a cooled water heater.

Last one we bought was 15 years ago, probably could have fixed. We bought another, and it works great.as the first one.

This pump has been working well for us. The only downside is that there is not an off and on switch so it has to be disconnected to move the sprinkler head to another location.

Used this pump to water the garden from my pond. Bought a fire hose nozzle for my garden hose. Worked very well and saved my garden through a long dry period.

Just What We Needed

We have used this pump only once but it performs perfectly, we use it to clean the bottom of our water tank as it has iron bacteria that is just a bit heavier that water so it is sucked out without stirring it up. We have a sand separator but it doesn't stop this lightweight material from getting in the tank. Quiet and powerful "just what we needed"

Did The Job

This pump was used to drive one sprinkler for lawn use, drawing from the lake that I live on. I used PVC input piping with a foot valve in the lake. The only problem starting up was I had to prime the whole length of input pipe in addition to the pump itself. Once that was done, everything went well. It does need an On/Off switch. Lasted 4 summer seasons, and, this summer, output volume of water wouldn't run the sprinkler. Have no clue why, so I replace it with my backup pump.

So Far (Few Weeks) A Good Choice

After burning up two 1/2 HP pumps in eight days we went for this one HP and then tricked it up with solid suction (pic) intake with a foot valve, an extra strong sprinkle hose, brass valves instead of the plastic, and a 12 gauge extension cord. Works like a charm pulling water from our lake and transporting it 100 plus feet.

Needs An On and Off Switch

I use it to pump water from a well to water the garden. The one horse power pump has no problem pulling the water up from the well, since it will pull water from 20 feet. I wish it would have an on and off switch.

Great Portable Pump!

I had the opportunity to use this pump a week ago, fed from a 500 gallon rain water collection tank. This was the first time I have used a pump to pull water from my tank. The instructions were great and on point with the need to prime. I was able to just feed water from the tank through the pump, until it filled in the casing. I had read the comments here before about the plastic coupling. and agree its better to attach brass fittings to it for the hose. Given the pressures these pumps can generate, I believe a plastic coupling is a good safety idea.
I did use as suggested a washing machine hose for the feeder line, so that the hose did not collapse from the suction. Those hoses are a bit narrow in comparison to a 3/4 inch garden hose, so it seemed to reduce the volume of water moved some. The pressure through 40 ft of hose with no real grade change was good for my goal of watering plants in the front yard with rain water. Based on the length of time I ran it and my before and after water levels in the tank, it moved 7 gpm without any problems. The construction reflects a well made product and the handle is well placed for balance in carrying. It's a hefty pump, worth the premium in cost. I would recommend it to a friend.

Hi Jim,
I want to top off my water garden pond from an outside well that has not been used in quite some time. I am not sure of the depth of the well at this time. I am just wondering if this is the proper pump for this application. Thank you.

Hi Jim,
Here is my current problem. At my camp we have a giant slip and slide on one of our hills. Currently I have 3000 gallons of storage on the top of the hill powered by a 7 hp gas pump. This is used up in approximately 40 minutes of continuous use. For refilling I have two methods. 1) Truck in water. 2) Fill water with standard 3/4 inch garden hose from the nearest spigot. It is approximately 160 feet away from the spigot with a 50 foot rise in elevation. Currently this method takes approximately 9 hrs/1000 gallons. Do you have a transfer pump which would be appropriate for this?
My ideal situation would be if I could get 1000/hr which would enable our slip and slide to be used by two different groups in the afternoon (3000 over 3 hours). Though I am concerned about 1) If such a pump would put too much pressure on our pipes. 2) If this is even a reasonable water use request for such a small spigot.
Thank you.

I'd like to find a pump to pull water from the lake to wash my boat and deck in the boathouse. Is this pump well suited for that, or is another choice better?
And what accessories would I need? I want to connect to a standard garden hose. Thanks.
