Impressive Power

I bought this pump to drop in a 13 foot hole I bored in my yard by my house to lower the water table as I was tired of hearing my sump pumps blasting for the last 6 months. This pump is impressive. The hole was muddy and had dirty water in it. This pump was able to eject this water and it is now clear water being pumped. With the 13 foot head it does about 7 gallons per minute through a 1-1/4 inch flexible hose. I was running it for about 12 hours at a time and it functioned well. It is a little expensive and next time I’d probably try a cheap harbor freight first.

Solid Pump

This pump worked beautifully for what I bought it for... Torrential rains that flood my backyard! Although I had to get out in the huge downpour to get it set up with a power cord, and shield the cord from the rain as well. When I got the scrap garden hose attached and pluggled the pump in, and place it in an appropriate low spot in the yard the pump worked great! It has to be in at least 3 inches of water to function though... That's the only drawback.

Needed a pump that was less than 6 inches in diameter and this fit the bill. Works amazingly well. Quiet and efficient and pumps a lot of water, this totally solved my problem.

Great Little Pump For Moving Large Volume Of Water
By Ree B.

This pump makes short work of draining the koi pond for routine water change out. Our pond is about four thousand gallon and about every ten days we pump it down about half way to put fresh water in. Our old pump was much smaller and took about four hours to pump the pond down. With this pump we are able to pump out half the water in about an hours time. using 1 1/4 in hose for discharge.

Didn't Perform As I Expected.

I borrowed a 1/4 horse Simer 2300 from a friend to see if it would work for my purpose which was to push water from the lake about 150/200 ft. at a slight incline. It worked, so I decided to buy one and went with a 1/2 horse thinking it would work even better. What a disappointment! Even worse, when I tried to call Water Pumps Direct, I sat on 'hold' for a half hour even though their message said it would only be 3 minutes. Lousy pump, lousy service!

Expert Response
Very sorry to hear you're having issues with your pump. Simer has excellent quality control, and we rarely see any issues with their pumps. If you're not getting the expected flow it could either be that the pump is losing its prime or you may need to increase the hoses diameter (If you're using a 3/4" Garden hose). For troubleshooting issues, it would be best to start with Simer. Simer can be reached directly at (800) 468-7867

Manufacturer Response
Ronald you are correct the Simer 2300 is 1/4 HP and the Simer 2385 is 1/2 HP oil free pump. GPH at 20Ft is 750 with a max lift of 25 feet. If the pump is defective Pentair will stand behind our product and replace.

We are using this pump for our pond and it is performing a lot better than we expected. It is pushing a good amount of water up and into the falls, which is quite a ways from where the pump is sitting. We are very happy with our new pump and would recommend it to anyone needing it.

This Is A Surprisingly Powerful Little Pump

We’ve used A different manufacturer pump in the past, our last one lasted almost 5 years. We were surprised at the rate of volume this little pump produces. Hope it lasts as long as our last one. So far so good, as it is used to remove water from the winter cover off our in ground pool.

If I was to water a garden with this pump, would the pressure of the hose turning on and off be bad for the pump?

I am looking at a Simer 2385. I want to lower the water level in my lagoon. I just want to take 12 to 18 inches of water off the top. The solids will all be at the bottom, so will only pump water. Would like to spray the water on the grass I am starting on the back side of the lagoon. I would hold the hose, and try to use a device on the end to make a spray pattern. I see one person used this to water grass out of a pond, so I am wondering if this will work for my situation, and would have enough pressure to do this.. Also wanted to know how long the cord is on this one.
