Pump works well for irrigation needs. However, you'll need some pipe tape to create a proper seal on the drain plug. It would help if the pump came with schematics of the pump itself in case repairs are needed.

I have purchased three red lion pumps on different projects two of them do not make it from one season to the next .Don’t know if it’s due to corrosion internally was stored indoors during the winter very poor customer service. Was trying to possibly get a new one under warranty Water Pumps Direct said I would have to contact a third-party because they don’t handle the warranties never heard anything after that. Don’t put a warranty label on the box if you’re not going to stand behind it.

Exceeded expectations. I use it to pump out water from our rain barrels to water the garden with my Dramm sprinkler shower head. It’s phenomenal. Only downside of you need to get your own standard house adapter and you should also get a water filter of some kind to go into the drawing from source, but maybe y’all already know that. Other than that, super thrilled. Thanks Water Pumps Direct!

About to buy way more pump than I needed until Jake with customer service pointed me in the direction of this pump. My needs more to pump from a lake up a 20 foot elevation gain with a 100 foot of hose attached with a sprinkler. The pump is plenty strong and even pumped through 125 feet of hose with plenty of pressure. I have the pump on my dock when it’s running and there is virtually no vibration so no worry of the pump falling in the water.
The only drawback I’ve run into is water will not run into the suction hose when priming the pump by pouring water into the top of the pump according to the directions. Easy solution is to just fill the suction hose with water before attaching to the pump. It would have also been nice for Red Lion to include the few fittings needed. They included the hose adapter but that’s it.
Only time will tell how durable and reliable this pump will be. It seems, however, to be durable and well made.
Customer service was great and the pump was shipped and received in a timely manner.

Hard to prime. Moves less water than advertised... Only one fitting for outlet or pick-up. I had to buy another fitting. It leaks. :(

The portable sprinkler pump works great for watering my lake house lawn. This 'plug in and go' pump was fairly easy to set up with minimal plumbing skills. It would have been a little easier with better detailed instructions for the novice plumber.
