It Moves A Bunch Of Water!
By Paul W

We have 25’ of elevation from where the pump is to the last zone that has 8 sprinklers on it. The pump doesn’t have a problem popping those sprinklers right up with plenty of pressure and water. we are drawing out of a lake and the pump is 12’ above the lake and the footer valve is 60’ away. I am very pleased with this pump. I have been pumping for only 1 week so we will see how long it lasts.

This was a great buy works wonderful. I used it for my sprinkler system, and it increased my pressure on all my sprinkler heads, and I’ve had no trouble out of it. I would definitely recommend this pump.

Got this to pull water from the lake I live on. My god this thing can suck some water. I’m running 23 high-flow heads simultaneously with absolute ease. I know I could get 30 if I needed to ever add. The self-priming is a bit eh, but I’m gonna let it slide seeing as I’m running 150’ of 2” intake line. I highly recommend this pump if you wanna cut out all the automation and expenses and just throw some serious water.

Replacement Pump

Review Posted 09/18/2023
I needed to replace my pump (Blue Bird) for my lawn sprinkler system. Apparently, they are no longer manufactured. I looked into other manufacturers and found a couple, but their reviews were not very good. I came across Red Lion pumps and their reviews were great. I opted for the 2 HP w/ brass impeller. What a huge difference!! I also got the pump in one day. I would recommend this pump and purchasing from Water Pump Direct.

Irrigation
By Robert G

Purchased 06/27/2023 |
Review Posted 08/09/2023

I bought this pump to make a backup system for my main irrigation pump in my pecan orchard. I pump out of a river which is going dry due to our severe drought. I got the brass impeller for that reason The pump is 120 feet from the foot valve with a head of about five feet. The discharge line is over 300 feet long before it connects into the main irrigation line where the filter system is. I used a short length of flexible pipe to make the connection up the riverbank for ease of piping. The filter is another 500 feet to the orchard. The orchard is 40 acres, 1200 feet on a side divided into 6 zones.
The listed specs on the pump are what I am experiencing. This pump performs very well. The only detail that could be better is the chamber to connect power. I had to run #8 wire due to the distance and making a connection was very difficult due to the small size of the junction box. Otherwise I’m super pleased with the pump. I have another Red Lion gasoline motor driven pump and it works just as well in its operation. My main irrigation pump is a 7.5 hp submersible. I would recommend Red Lion to anyone. If you match their specs to your needs you won’t go wrong.

Big Improvement Over The 1.5hp Wayne Pump
By p0rkmaster

Review Posted 07/28/2022
Had a 1.5 horsepower Wayne pump with a crappy plastic impeller. This two horsepower Red Lion with a brass impeller didn't cost much more than the Wayne and it has turned out to be a significant upgrade. Pump got here quickly and got it in service before my yard got roasted by this nasty triple digit heat wave.
