Of all shallow pumps, Red Lion seems to be the most reliable. Its basically a little red tank that just cant be stopped. I'd certainly buy another one of these if I ever happen to need another shallow well pump. If you are between a Red Lion and another pump and just hung up on a price difference, go ahead and just do the Red Lion, you wont be disappointed.

I got out there Sunday and worked on my pump, it had been given a lot of trouble, no pressure. Figured out the switch was bad, now the pump seems to be working very well.

I had a half horsepower shallow well pump that was going bad so I saw the Red Lion one horsepower and decided to buy it bad mistake this pump is not as good as my half horsepower take my word spend the money and buy a good pump I'm out $350

Hello Donald,
I'm sorry that your pump is not performing to your expectations. The most common reason that a pump is not performing to the rated performance is because the pump comes factory set for 230 voltage.
If your power source is 115 Volts, the setting on the pump must be changed to 115 Volts (see Owner's Manual). Not changing this setting would cause the pump to operate at half the power. Any leaks in the line can also affect the pump. If you'd like our team to troubleshoot for you, please contact the Technical Service Line at 888.885.9254. i recently purchased red lion pump to replace a flotec. I have more pressure to my sprinkling system than I did with my flotec, Both are 1 hp pumps. My only concern was the pump ran hot. Red lions service tech assured me that this was normal.

It's been installed for about a week now. Works really well. Very quiet, so far very reliable. Wished the original pump controller would have came with a low pressure shut off, but you can buy one and install it easily. At this point I recommend this pump and would purchase it again.

Replaced tired pump with new Red Lion. Easy to install. No issues at start up. Pump is lighter than old Sta-rite which made the installation easier. Good value since it is getting costly to rebuild old pumps.

Buyer beware. Used pump for two days, capacitor went. I was told to call manufacturer directly. They don’t sell spare parts. It took several days for water pumps direct to review and approved warranty replacement.

One horsepower Red Lion used for irrigation system in my yard. Pumps 20 gallons per minute with pressure hold of 42 LB while running. My well is 21 ft deep plus the 30 inch strainer. Great pump.
