Generac 6918 Reviews & Ratings
Generac is a name well known for their generators. They've been making them since 1959, along with their own engines. In addition to the top quality generators they build, they also provide one heck of a pressure washer and water pump!
This 2" pump is powered by a Generac 208cc 4-Cycle OHV Engine w/ Recoil Start. They provide easy starting and plenty of torque to keep the water flowing.
Combine that with an aluminum pump housing & cast iron volute & impeller-and an EASY PRIME tethered priming cap-this pump will handle a respectable 158 max GPM.
This pump is surrounded by a roll cage that protects the pump and makes it easy to move around. If you're looking for a good 2" water pump, we'd recommend this model from Generac CW20.

No Suction

I bought this unit, worked all day to get it to pull water out of my cistern. Intake about 8 feet down, says it can pull up to 26 feet. Did not pull water even from a 5 gallaon pail right next to pump. Very disgusted with this unit.

Recently purchased pump to fill 300 gallon ag sprayer. Filled 6 times over two days. Pump took a long time to move water. I was unsure as to why it was taking so long and looked in the manual and it suggested that suction may be an issue. I switched out the quick release assembly I had put on it and went back to original threaded ends and it did not make any difference. I took off the output ends and tried multiple ways to get it to pump the water. Very frustrating. Lots of time. Finally realized I just needed to walk away and let it run.
After a couple of minutes, maybe 3-4, (I did not time it), the pump would start transferring water and it would fill up the tank in about 2-3 minutes. I wish they would write something in the manual that it takes a few minutes to build up suction pressure needed to transfer water. It says Easy Prime, which it was easy to put water into pump, but I was looking for transfer immediately. It is easy to prime with the funnel built in case. Engine started easily and quickly. Good machine. Would recommend to purchase.

I'm using this to dredge the area around my dock. Machine works great and starts right up. Works in "dirty" water, though I'm still working out the kinks for screening the intake.
