This unit has many things to beware and improve. Setup per directions and got no water output on test. Bottomline, hose clamps are too cheap and do not tightened enough on hose. They will strip to inferior budget quality. I replaced with quality metal water clamps and all was resolved. Careful with all plastics treads since you can eadily cross treat if not careful. Otherwise, the the water pumped worked well once intake flow problem resolved.

The pump worked after. I cleaned up the oil mess because they fill the pump with oil at the factory but don't let you know that in the instructions. So, when I followed the instructions in the manual (it was the wrong manual.) I went to fill the pump with oil. Since it was already filled, the oil flowed all over my work table. Also, as I already mentioned, the instructions were for another pump. So I couldn't use the pump.
I called the company I bought the pump from but it was the weekend so I had to wait until Monday. They couldn't help me. I had to call Generac. I contacted Danielle Steeler. She sent me just the parts of the manual to get the pump going. So I started to connect the discharge hose to the pump. A part that was needed to connect the hose shattered when I tightened the hose clamp around it. I had to wait 1 and a half months and I still haven't received the part. They've sent me three parts, all came in separate deliveries, none were the part I needed.
Finally, a part that came with the pump that had nothing to do with the instructions for running the pump I realized after a couple of weeks that I could use it to connect the pump to an ordinary garden hose. Danielle never told me that. I don't think she even knew about that part. Pump worked very well then but customer support is terrible.

This is one of the few things I've purchased recently that actually did what it said it would. It's a little weaker than I thought it would be but worked great. The manual is a little out of date and it actually comes with a quart of oil and a little filler bottle tucked away in the packaging. Also very light weight.

Pump is good. Hoses are cheap parts. Buy brass 1” NPT fittings and better hose unless you want to deal with breakage in the field. Not a bad pump for the price.

Loses prime easy. Hose clamps are cheap and allow air in /pump wont prime. Kill switch bracket broke second use. redesign with a shelf bracket. Pump runs better at half throttle. Motor does run strong and starts easy. Not a medium or heavy duty pump.
