There aren't many small gas irrigation pumps available, so I chose this one even though it's packaged for de-watering. Replacing the supplied (cheap plastic) output adapter with pressure-ready metal fittings (with teflon tape) was no problem. But wait, there is NO THROTTLE control. I'm not familiar with de-watering / semi-trash pump conventions and there was nothing in the Generac literature or PED listing that helped me realize I was buying a throttle-less pump.
It turns out the automatic throttle mechanism is not too hard to manually override by attaching a wire, running it through a hole in the plastic cover, and alligator clipping to the desired throttle position. The pump also starts fine from this mid-range position (always on the second pull), so problem solved.
I don't think it's any louder than the Honda WX10, which was barely strong enough to overhead water our 50x40 garden. So if this holds up, it looks like a better solution.

This is the exact same pump I bought about 15 years ago that was made under a Chinese name, The only difference is this one is painted orange instead of red and it doesn't have a fuel shut off. So either Generac bought this company or sold them the use of the Generac name. Eithere way I gave twice as much for this one as the old one. I hope it lasts as long.

I have used this pump very successfully to pull water off a creek and irrigate my yard with over the 10k sqft. Front to back is over 200 feet distance and I can run 5+ sprinklers. I don’t have enough sprinklers for this system. Works great!!!

Great little pump. Started in 3-4 pulls. Easy priming quality hose's and fittings. Comes with everything needed to use hose's, suction screen, fittings, clamps, & oil, just add fuel. Wish it had adjustable RPM I didnt see anything that it did or didn't when ordering. Not really needed but would be nice to have option to idle down. Engine noise is comfortable.
