Water Pumps Direct’s website was easy to search. Quickly located an exact replacement pump. Had the option to upgrade to a stainless steel impeller which I did. Easy install. Matched up perfectly with existing piping. Primed it and it worked right the first try.

Nicely done WPD!!

Pleased With Performance

I'm supplying water to 16 high capacity lawn sprinklers from this pump. And it will run for hours without shutting down compared to a Wayne 2hp pump that I also have that has a duty cycle of about 50%. The performance is great.

Don't Trust Their "Expert"!
By Jeff S.

Review Posted 03/14/2017
My 12 year old Flotec irrigation pump was no longer producing the same high pressure that it did when new. So I searched online for a quality replacement. Water Pumps Direct advertised a good selection of pumps and touted their on-staff expert" would assist you with your decision. I provided their "expert " with all of the necessary measurements and specs that he requested. His subsequent recommendation was to purchase either a 1 1/2 HP or 2 HP Franklin Electric TurfBoss pump. I went with the 2 HP model figuring it wouldn't hurt to upgrade the horsepower. Last Saturday, I removed my old trusty Flotec pump and replaced it with the new "more powerful " TurfBoss pump. When I turned it on, what a disappointment! No more pressure (and perhaps less pressure) than my worn out Flotec. The sprinkler heads barely pop up and the water flow is pitiful. I contacted the expert again and explained the situation. Well his response was no longer confident and decisive. He now said it was "impossible " to know. Lots of weak explanations. Didn't sound like the professional advisor who confidently counseled me to buy the TurfBoss. He basically concluded with a sorry-about-your-luck pronouncement. "Contact Franklin Electric. See if their experts can help you". Does this sound all too familiar? The "expert" is a salesman who steers you to the product that costs twice as much as your original product. Maybe they had a higher markup on the TurfBoss and would make more on the sale. But I didn't mind paying the extra $$ if it would have performed. So buyer beware. The "expert" is more salesman than technician. And his tune definitely changes if you call back with a complaint. Advice becomes excuse.

Expert Response
Thank you for your review and for voicing your concerns Jeff. While we try to assist our customers to the very best of our ability, we can only go by the information we are provided and by the suggestions we make to you, our customer. Along with those suggestions, we can only assume that our customers take those suggestions into account. In my 2/15 email to you, I had said, "Based on this, you might consider upgrading to a 2HP Flotec model FP 5252-00 (among the other suggestion made) HOWEVER, you would also need to upgrade your suction and discharge piping to 2" in order to see any measurable results. May I please ask if this change was made to your system piping? I had also suggested in my last email that you call Franklin Electric tech support to get help in troubleshooting with them. Since THEY design and build the pump, they are the BEST resource for this and in helping in determining if the correct pump was installed and installed properly. And while I do have a lot of training in sizing pumps, I am human and am capable of mistakes. IF you would be kind enough to follow these recommendations, I would appreciate it. IF there is ANY problem in sizing aspect per Franklin Electric, please let me know and I will make it right for you.

This pump far exceeds my expectations.we are pulling water from our farm pond. I had hoped to supply 4 sprinklers at a time we are running 10 and it looks like we could add more.

Product Questions Answered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
I am looking to replace two well pumps I have attached to my dock due to electrocution worries. One is for a sprinkler system. it pumps up 90 ft to the valves and then another 40 ft to the highest zone. 1 1/2 pipe all the way. This other is for a "creek/waterfalls. It pumps up 90ft in a 3" pipe and then free flows back down to the lake. What pumps do you recommend?
