This pump replaced an earlier model I about about 20 years ago. That one was all-metal. This one is encased in plastic which is actually better as it isn't as likely to rust. I use it in a landscape water feature and it's in an irrigation box so it always lives outside. The two things I would improve would be to make the drain cap and the prime cap more friendly to use. You need to use a wrench and it would be great if it had a little T-handle so you could remove or replace by hand. Also need to be particularly careful not to lose the small 0-rings inside those caps. If they both had some kind of retention chain or something that would make that a lot easier job. Of course, if you use it above ground those jobs are much easier. The only other thing I would like to improve is the power consumption. It draws about 800 watts and that's a lot of power to be running for hours at a time. The older model ran at about 500 watts which wasn't quite so bad.

Nice pump. powerful and quiet. It has been running since I got it with no issues. I wish it had come with inlet hose. I use it to circulate water in my cement pond.

The pump performs well and transfer water at a good flow. I could initially not get a good prime with no flow. It was caused by a leak in the drain hose connection. No leak good suction.

Needed a pump small enough to be powered by 2000W inverter, yet powerful enough to transfer 400 gal in reasonable time. This pump is doing the job. Only been using it for a week so can't say much about durability, but so far it's a great little pump.
