This pump has saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars. It only runs about 10% less minutes than other pumps, since it is so powerful and efficient. And it’s made strong like a German tank. I’m no longer replacing them so often! Good investment!

There’s good and not so good things to know before buying this pump. The pressure switch is less than desirable. There’s other reviews about the hose running from the switch to the pump housing and they are spot on. After losing water this morning that was the first thought and sure enough it had blown off and ran a 250 gallon water tote dry. I cannot comment on the function of the switch because I’m using a switch already installed on my pressure tank as the power source for the pump.
Now, the second thing to make sure you get before you hook up your pipes is a check valve. There is no built in check valve in the pump so an in-line check valve must be installed. Other than that, the pump seems to work right for now. We will see long term how it holds up.

I bought this replace the same model Flotec pump I had which was several years old. This pump sits in my garage (protected from elements) and is what maintains the pressure within household.
1. When I unboxed it to install i noticed the regulator housing was bent, but didn't think it would impact any performance.
2. Once I installed and started using it, it was terribly loud. 10x worse than old one I replaced. It sounds like garbage disposal. It can be heard very clearly in the house now, and embarrassing when we have guests.
I am very upset with this new pump. When I attempt contact the seller (Water Pump Direct) on the phone, I just end up on on hold waiting for someone. After 45 mins each time, I end up hanging up. I see no other means of contact information, like chat or email options. Very difficult process and frustrating.
I just need to know if this noisy operation is normal now with newer pumps, or if there some defect on mine. The pressure seems a little weaker. I cannot get anyone in their tech support dept to answer calls.
I hope they are reading this review and contact me. I will gladly change my review if/when satisfied.

This is a solid product at a good price. I needed a pump in this performance range delivering about 14 gal/min at 40 psi and 10' lift and this 1 hp pump met my needs.
There are most certainly higher performance 1 hp pumps available, but expect to pay quite a bit more.
The installation was straightforward and I was up and running in now time, replacing an older 3/4 hp pump that did not deliver sufficient capacity to my irrigation needs.

Bought this pump to service a shallow well for irrigation. It delivers great pressure and close to 40gpm under about 50psi. The cut off pressure switch has never worked correctly. Came with a plastic pressure tube that failed within 2 wks and burned up the pump housing. Replaced that tube with a copper tube. Pressure switch still does not cut off pump correctly. We have to constantly turn the pump off and on for watering as opposed to relying on the pressure switch. Today, after only 6 mos. of use, the pump housing burned up a second time. The pump has never run dry, but it continuously runs on and off all day while in use. Replacement parts CAN NOT be found anywhere for this particular model either. Will be ordering a different brand all together and may look for a return policy for this Flotec model. Would not suggest this pump unless you are willing to manually operate it each time you need it to run for you.
