I am a licensed plumber. I purchased this pump and installed at a customers Lakehouse. As soon as we turn the pump on, I realized that the plastic fittings that comes off of the tank had pinhole leaks all over it had to replace with copper brass fittings to make this unit stop leaking.

Looks great. Shaky on the performance! Had nothing but trouble from it. The tank ate bladders. Due to poor manufacturing quality. It had rough burrs inside. After a day of grinding and sanding it smooth it has been OK. Not easy to do thru a 3" diameter hole.
The correct bladder was not longer available. Took over a month to get one that would work. Very poor support!
I installed this pump in 2014 and replaced it with a Red Lion RL-SWJ-100 on 5/18/2023. That's a pump!

Pump Replacement

The pump Model 506538SS replaced a Sears pump installed in the house 4 decades ago. The house has a shallow well in the finished cellar and supplies all the household water needs. I rebuilt the old Sears pump and replaced the bladder in its tank few years ago, but it was getting tired. It would cycle on and off all the time since the pump could not develop sufficient pressure. This combined with the fact of being quite noisy did not bode well when talking on the phone with clients, as you can see in the picture the cellar doubles up as my office.
The pump was the most expensive from the ones I reviewed, but I expected this because of its all stainless steel construction. For human water consumption stainless is the best. Also its polished look is quite attractive and I get to see it and hear it all the time. It's much quieter than the Sears. The tank at 16 gallons is smaller than the Sears (when it worked) so it cycles more often but it's quieter and reaches full 50 psi pressure quickly.
One negative, it requires additional check valve on the input side of the pump, the Sears unit had a built-in check valve as part of the pump.
One plus, the changeover from 115 to 230 VAC is a cinch, take off the the top of the pump control box, there is a switch to change between the two voltages, no re-wiring.

Worked for a few times, turned on water and motor will not start. It is getting power to the pressure switch but will not run. Haven’t had a electrician look at it yet.

The pump/tank combo was easy to hook up and worked first time..pulls 30 ft horizontal and 10 feet vertical from a shallow well..pumps 300 ft to the house in a 1 inch line... 35lbs at the house..about 8GPM from a hose... Pump worked fine for 3 yrs then the small hose to the pressure switch failed.. service call...10 months later the pressure switch failed..service call..at 56 months the internal bladder failed..service call....I'm buying another one of these pumps not because it is a really good pump...but because it is a pretty good pump and It will be easy to install....the warranty is only 2 years....Make a higher quality Bladder and put on a real pressure switch that mounts with no hoses and you have a winner...5 yr warranty...At least the price has gone up.....

After just over 2 years the pump leaks from the stainless steel half. Looks like a small rust hole. I installed this expensive pump/tank combination as a replacement for a cheapo no-name brand pump/tank combination whose tank leaked after "only" five years. I wish I had kept that pump and just replaced the tank. It's ironic that a stainless steel pump is rusted. The water is fresh clean lake water. I am going to see what Burcam does for me, as the thing has a 3 year warranty. But yesterday I had to buy a new pump because I needed water immediately. Meaning I could not wait for Burcam to ship me another one, even if they wanted to. An added bonus the new pump is much, much, much quieter than this thing ever was.

i have a shallow well with a pump and bladder tank. the motor on the pump is almost shot and I wanted to know if it is just as simple to switch to a tankless system with its features or should I move up to a 3/4 hp pump tank stainless steel system for my home and sprinkler system. I plan to just tie into my exiting 1 1/4 inch plastic well.
