This pump earns our recommendation because it is a dual action pump. One application is the water supply pressure booster pump. This increases and maintains municipal home water pressure. The Booster Pump will give constant pressure delivering between 60 to 65PSI of pressure and will increase the city water pressure by what pressure is present in the system.
For example: if the city water pressure is 20 psi plus the 60 to 65PSI that the pump will deliver, the pump will give a total more or less between 80 to 85PSI. If the incoming pressure is higher than between 20 to 25 psi, a 1" pressure regulator is required at the pump intake to assure that the discharge pressure will not be too high to damage the piping system of the house. That's the maximum pressure that the pump body can withstand. There is no pressure adjustment on this system.
The second application is a tankless shallow well jet pump with an electronic control that prevents the pump from running dry. The maximum pressure that the pump will deliver pumping from a well is between 60 to 65PSI.
The main feature of the electronic system is to regulate and control the delivery of water and to maintain constant pressure without the inconvenience of fluctuating pressure, especially useful when taking a shower, along with other applications. Everyone wants constant pressure. No pressure switch or tank is needed. 25-Foot vertical lift maximum, similar to all shallow well jet pumps.
Because this pump is a dual action pump, it deserves our recommendation!

Great Pump

Review Posted 02/21/2025
We live unconventionally and needed a pump that did not have a bladder. This pump has worked wonderfully for our needs for the last 4 yrs. The only reason we had to get another one is that the heater quit working at 9 degree weather and froze the pump. We bought the exact same one again. LOVE this pump and I would recommend it highly.

Plastic Housing Is Weak

I went through two of them before going back to a tank. They work flawlessly but both of them developed a crack in the impeller housing and failed. Went back with something I could fix in a pinch from Lowe's if needed.

Great Pump. Even Though It Gave Me A Couple Headaces

Great pump. Easy install. Piece of cake to prime. but the in and out water fittings on the control box (don't know official name) were leaking from factory assembly. And i kept lossing prime. I have an 20' artesian well in the basement. And of course didn't find out til first test. I had to unhook everything, take pump apart and re dope fittings. Reassemble, reprime and test. After that it worked great. And only rated it lower because it frustrated me. It WAS NOT THE PRODUCTS FAULT. Product is great. I'm assuming it was human assembly error. Not really a big deal, just took me longer for install. I will be purchasing another for my workshop.

Had Little Gravity Pressure Before
By Norris P
Washington
Purchased 09/09/2023 |
Review Posted 10/23/2023
We had less than 30 lbs of pressure from a community storage gravity fed tank. This pump makes taking a shower or washing the pups, watering the lawn, simply amazing. One thing though for people that don't closely read manuals....Put it in Big Letters everywhere...."YOU MUST HAVE A PRE REGULATOR KEEPING THE PRESSURE LOWER THAN 25 AS IT ENTERS THE PUMP. " Even the gravity feed allows the pump to get up to 100 ppsi if you don't..

Perhaps Not The Best Choice For A Sprinkler System
By Jon G
Texas
Purchased 08/10/2023 |
Review Posted 09/15/2023
Our lake house utilizes lake water for our sprinkler system. Several years ago my father, now deceased, went with the Burcam, and we've used them ever since. I say "them", because in the 8 years we've used "them" we have ordered at least 7 of them. Most result in motor failures. 2 got frozen and separated the vessel/tank, 1 I probably did not FULLY drain come winter and the remaining water drops seized everything. The Burcam does do the job of irrigating 1.5 acres, but they are sooooo sensative they simply do not last. On this last one which is now 1 month old, I plan on treating it like a baby bunny, hopefully it'll last more than 1 season.

Burcam Replacement
By Guy S
Colorado
Review Posted 02/03/2023
I purchased another Burcam to replace one I had purchased a couple of years ago that had stopped working. I installed the new pump only to realize the problem wasn’t with the pump but the water source. So now I really feel dumb for thinking it was the pump that wasn’t working right and never stopped to check the water source. I use it to pump and provide water pressure from a 800 gallon overhead tank we use as a shower shed in the mountains.
Good news is that I solved the water flow problem and I now have a spare pump. I will mention the first pump I received a few years back did leak/drip around one of the seals. It was replaced within a week so I can vouch for their customer service responding quickly and not dragging things out.

Hi Jim, Looking at the 506532SS pump. What I am doing is taking the RO water from a 100 Gal holding tank and pressurizing the 32 gallon take to the house.
Pressure to be 30-50 PSI. There will be floats to protect the booster pump and the entire system. Is there a less expensive option for my needs? The feed will be at the bottom of the tank, and the pressure tank is within 4 feet.
Thanks
Jim

we are moving to an off grid home with a 2000 gal water tank buried.we need water for a kitchen sink and one full bathroom with one more in future.wondering if this pump will work or if there is more I need also thinking I need some kind of filtration.thanks for any suggestions

June 29, 2016
Hi Jim,
I am following up to my original question to answer your question...
The pump will be placed in line with the storage tank on slab. Almost all the faucets/appliances are on the slab level of the home however there is one bathroom on the second floor so I would estimate our vertical lift on the second floor to be about 18' given that we have 9' ceilings. That said, all remaining faucets and appliances will have a much lower vertical lift.
The piping will be 1/2 inch copper.
Original answer:
Thank you for your interest in Water Pumps Direct. Before I can really make an educated suggestion on what pump you would need for your application, I would need to know the following specifications and requirements:
What is your vertical lift?
What size piping do you have in place?
Original Question:
I have a well system on my property but it is over 1000' away so I am running a line from the well to a 1500 gallon storage tank. I plan to use this pump on the outlet side of the storage tank to boost pressure and supply house. So the water will be coming in with limited pressure and no head. How many faucets/appliances will this product be able to handle being used simultaneously? I saw in one of your other responses you said 2 faucets/appliances and that surprised me because I assumed it would be more.
