We manage several flower beads for a client. We have the pump connected to a 300 gallon water tank we put in a trailer. Amazingly, we only need to run the pump at about 1/3 throttle for it to supply the amount of water needed. This also means that fuel consumption is lower.

Pretty much anything related to Honda is going to have a good outcome. This little pump is able to fill my 275 gal tote in about 8 minutes. I always try to reduce head(pump vertical draw distance) to improve performance. I also feed water from the lower valve on my tote vs. drawing it from the top. It is able to power up 100' of sprinkler hose no problem. Actually I throttle down to keep from spraying so high.
Speaking of this, the wx10 has an adjustable throttle vs. wide open all the time like some models. Can't imagine making it any other way. I use it to water by hand as well and feel a little like a fireman as it has tremendous reach with the right spray nozzle. It does have one limitation...its small 25 cc engine can be brought to a halt if a hose kinks badly enough to stop the flow.
However, on one tank of gas I can fill and empty my tote with fuel to spare. It is what I would call right sizing. It starts well too after a shutdown and with hoses full of water. Is this thing overpriced? No, it is high priced but for the Honda name and performance, worth it!

I bought this because I thought my 15 year old 1hp pump may be getting tired. I use it to water my lawn from an irrigation ditch. I run 2 impulse sprinklers from each pump, with good pressure.

This is our second pump of its kind. The first lasted many, many years and the engine still purrs, but the pump cracked due to user error. It starts without much effort, it runs beautifully, it is small and lighter than others with the same performance levels (the Harbor Freight pump is probably twice as heavy and much larger but same performance specs) and, when well taken care of, will last years if not decades. I highly recommend this pump!
My only pause is the price, but after using another brand's pump, this is worth the lunch money. We use this pump for clear/clean water purposes, and it has been virtually flawless. We have not used it for any trashy dewatering tasks, so I cannot speak to how it would do...and I do not think it is rated or recommended for foul water handling. You can buy the Harbor Freight pump that is similar to this pump, but you will end up purchasing this one, so save some money and spend the extra money up front, You will be glad you did. Good luck!

I have a cabin with a holding tank for a water system and I pump water directly from a lake. I have had this pump for 15 years and totally reliable. I am extremely happy with the pump and am buying another one as back up.

I purchased this particular pump because it featured a Honda motor and a Honda pump. I pump to a height of 90 ft and the pump produces 2.5 gpm at full throttle. The motor runs for 50 minutes per tank at full tilt. One problem I am having is that the pump loses its prime (approximately 3 ft of lift) easily. The manual states that you should not block the flow for long periods of time. I find that if I block the flow for 5 seconds, the pump loses its prime and I have to wait for the pump to cool down and prime it again.. The other problem a had was that the pump did not want to operate against air pressure in 30 ft of empty 1 inch line before reaching a one way valve holding back approximately 35 lbs of pressure. Removing the valve solved that problem, though now 250 of 1 inch line has to drain each use.
